Old School Mondays - Freedom Party Edition
Awww man, preparing this post has me smiling for an hour already.................
I think I've watched this video 10 times in the last 40 minutes.
First things first, def gotta give a shout-out to all the folks over at the Freedom Party. DJ's Herbert, Cosi and Marc Smooth. I remember hitting up that party on the regular when it was at Starfoods catching some of the best joints from the early 80's and then running down to GoodWorld to catch up w/Shan and Torbitt and continue my dosage. Man, those were superstar Friday's.
And before those days, my musical taste was heavily influenced by my mom and my cousin Tracy. (Thank you both for having such great taste.) I'd have to say one of the things that touch me most when listening to this music is reflecting on how much fun you can have in the hardest of times. All of the music below came out prior to my 5th birthday. Up until now I haven't seen any of these videos. All I can say is do yourself a favor and build your musical catalog, get some Alexander O'neal, Mtume, S.O.S. Band, Surface, Loose Ends, Kool & the Gang, Daytion, Rufus, The Crusaders, The System or you can just go to the Freedom Party and sweat it out. Peace

I just took the Illest Trip down memory lane...Thanks for putting a young boys Smile on this Old Mans face.... You've outdone yourself with this ONE... I remember my moms 45's, and the only English music she ever Rocked with. Allah u Akbar! Peace
I was wondering why I kept hearing my favorite jams last night. Dope entry. Speak on this drama with Howard Hewitt and Ms. Jody. P.S. my moms would say that Howard Hewitt was really my daddy because that was her last name, and hell she was in love with dude.
