Mel Ramos is a name that can be mentioned within the same breath as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein just to name a couple. I am by far not an expert in art but I do know what I like and where I've drawn inspiration from. Mel Ramos' work made me look at my work a bit differently. It is all about approach I would say. His work during the early and mid 60's gained him recognition due to the fact that, well sex sells and of course nowadays who isn't fond of the female form?? Aside from the pin up style girls he alsodid a show based his renditions of comic book heroes.
