Red Tape Mix Up
When ever you move it's aways a bit crazy but I have to say I found a jem among all the craziness. I had this no frills CD/Cassette player laying around the crib and for no apparent reason. Then while moving and going through my storage I found out what the reason was when I came across a box that had my cassette tapes. I mean these are tapes that the music can take you on a journey, way back, back into time. The nights I would record many of the hip hop mix shows they had on WBLS and KISS FM(oh can't forget Stretch & Bobbito too). A few House tapes from people I know as well as some of my favorite hardcore punk tapes. These were demos and some albums. Just the fact that I got to play them and press REWIND and FAST FOWARD was surreal. Having to find the song that you want to listen to could be a task especially if it was at the end of a side. It just put a smile on my face to sit and vibe off of these tunes. So much music comes and goes. Now the trick will be how to transfer the music into MP3's.A few of my Hardcore Punk Cassettes

Oh man I was open when I found these too. An EOS (Elements of Style NYC) & DJ Muro Mix Tape circa 96-97, Ken Sport Mix Tape (for those that know the legend), A 98.7 Kiss FM DJ Red Alert Mix and a Tony Touch Mix Tape cover courtesy of Dontay TC5 you suckas!!!
Geto Boys, Method Man, Jurrasic 5 Tape (Diggin up old joints here), EPMD, Black Sheep and I had to stop myself because I just couldn't believe what I had.
Labels: Boom Box, Cassette Tapes, DJ Muro, DJ Red Alert, Mix Tapes, Tony Touch
